Donald Trump Diagnosed With Vein Condition After Recent Photos Sparked Health Concerns

President Trump’s doctor confirmed he has been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency at 79 years old

President Donald Trump has been officially diagnosed with a chronic vein condition that has recently drawn attention.

According to the White House’s physician, the 79-year-old president is dealing with a condition known as chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). This news has raised fresh concerns over his overall health.

The Cleveland Clinic explains that CVI develops when the veins in your legs stop functioning the way they should and become damaged over time.

“Normally, valves in your leg veins keep blood flowing back up to your heart. But CVI damages those valves, causing blood to pool in your legs. This increases pressure in your leg veins and causes symptoms like swelling and ulcers.” it explains.

This condition has led to noticeable swelling in Trump’s lower legs, especially near his ankles. These signs became more visible in recent public appearances.

During a press conference on July 17, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt spoke in more detail about the diagnosis. She shared that Trump had gone through a round of medical tests to investigate not just the leg swelling but also some bruising seen on the back of his right hand.

“Importantly, there was no evidence of deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease.” Leavitt said, while reading aloud a message from the president’s doctor.

She further explained that the full medical check-up included blood work and cardiac assessments to rule out other concerns.

“All results were within normal limits.” she added during the briefing.

When asked whether the bruising was causing the president any discomfort, Leavitt assured reporters that Trump is in ‘excellent health’ and isn’t experiencing any pain from it.

The bruises, however, haven’t gone unnoticed. For several months now, they’ve been quite visible.

During campaign stops last year, many sharp-eyed observers noticed what looked like a large yellow bruise on his right hand. That same mark seemed to pop up again in February when Trump met with French president Emmanuel Macron at the White House.

A few weeks later in March, two new dark spots were spotted on the palm of his right hand. White House officials brushed them off, saying they were likely due to his busy schedule and hands-on work.

In April, that same dark patch appeared again, this time spread across the back of his hand while he was presenting an award.

When it comes to how widespread CVI is, the Cleveland Clinic notes that roughly one in three adults has varicose veins. Out of those, about one in 50 people develop chronic venous insufficiency every year.

“Overall, chronic venous insufficiency affects about 1 in 20 adults.” the healthcare provider adds.

So, although it might be a condition to keep an eye on, it seems like Trump is managing just fine and isn’t letting it slow him down.
