Savannah Guthrie Speaks Out About Her Mother Nancy’s Disappearance

NBC’s Today show anchor Savannah Guthrie is facing a personal crisis: her 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, has been reported missing from her home in Arizona. Nancy was last seen on Saturday, January 31, in the Catalina Foothills, just days after posting on Facebook on January 27.

Savannah chose to step away from the Today broadcast on Monday, February 2, as the search for her mother intensified. The disappearance has captured national attention, and now Savannah has broken her silence.

During a Sunday press conference, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared details of the investigation. Search and rescue teams have scoured the area by land and air, and a homicide unit has been brought in to assist.

“We’re putting everything we have into this,” Sheriff Nanos said. “Nancy Guthrie is 84 and not in good physical health, which is naturally a major concern. What we’re seeing at the residence is concerning, and our homicide detectives are examining the scene closely.”

On Monday, Today anchor Craig Melvin addressed the situation on-air:
“We want to get right to what is a deeply personal story for us. Nancy Guthrie, Savannah’s beloved mother, has been reported missing in Arizona.”

“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers, and messages of support. Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom. We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900.”

The situation remains ongoing, and authorities continue to investigate every lead. The Today team, along with viewers across the country, are keeping the Guthrie family in their thoughts during this difficult time.
